If you look traveling and food, then what a great way to experience a food vacation by checking out the different food specialties of the places that you visit. Each country has their own unique dishes.
If you go to India you will get to taste sophisticated kinds of foods. These foods are offered mainly on the Punjabi region in the north, but if you visit other places south, east and west India, you will have different types of dishes which are mostly vegetarian but can also include meat of chicken, lamb, fish, and goat.
The French is perhaps the greatest cooks in the world. One popular ingredient in French cuisine is rich cream and alcohol. One popular French dish is Escargot or snails cooked in garlic butter along with frogs legs. This is one excellent dish you can truly savor if you don’t get put off by the main ingredients. The French also specialize in pastries, spirits, liqueurs, and wines that greet you wherever you go in France.
If you go Mediterranean, you should take time to check out the Spanish cuisine. The Spanish tapa is a very famous snack or starter and you should try their excellent seafood dishes. Sherry is their most famous national drink but they also have many excellent wines. This is wine fortified with brandy and is made in the Jerez region. Sangria is also very popular because it is inexpensive and it is red wine mixed with spices, spirits, and fruit and it is just like punch.
When you take Mexican or Aztec cooking it will taste of Spanish cooking as well. Mexicans are very fond of wrapped dishes in tacos or tortillas made from flour based breads. One very famous Mexican dip is Guacamole which is made from mashes avocados mixed with oil and garlic.
Italians are known for their pasta and pizza. The traditional lunch of laborers in the fields is pizza. In each home in Italian villages, you will find brick pizza ovens and their women collect different kinds of mushrooms in the woods which they bring home with their baskets full of it so they can make their popular pizza al funghi or mushroom pizza. Italy boasts of having 300 varieties of sausage to choose from and 400 cheeses. Italian cuisine has been there for ages.
Warming spices like cinnamon are characteristic of Middle Easter food which combine Mediterranean and eastern cooking. Hear you eat delicious breads with you appetizers, dips, and pickles. They are fond of lentils and chick peas and salads with very little meat.
To achieve the delicate and subtle flavors in Thai foods, lemon grass and lime juice are used. You will notice Thai food a combination of bitter, sweet, hot, and sour flavors. Fish sauce and noodles are used a lot in their cooking.
If you will go to Japan you should try their sushi rice and fish dishes. Japanese cookery includes a variety of sweets and rice based dishes and soya bean products and recipes.
